It’s time for our monthly energy check-in, and August is bringing some interesting vibes. We pulled the card: "Two Worlds" (Six of Spades)—a perfect reflection of the balancing act many of us are feeling right now.
Give a listen to the podcast video or continue reading below... or do both!
he Energy of August:
This month is all about straddling two worlds:
The external expectations (summer socializing, productivity, "shoulds")
The internal cravings (rest, authenticity, doing what actually brings you joy)
Sound familiar?
It’s like wanting to hibernate and party at the same time—frustrating, but also a sign to pause and ask:
What do I really need right now?
We got some vivid imagery around this:
Stomping/shaking off energy (literally or metaphorically—try it! It helps).
Ice and flames—the push-pull between isolation and connection, heat and coolness, obligation and freedom.
"Just f*cking do what you want" (the universe’s blunt but loving advice).
The Coldplay Epiphany (Yes, Really):
This message hit harder after Laura and I saw Coldplay live (stay with us). The show was a masterclass in joyful authenticity—no pretenses, no dress codes, just pure, unapologetic vibes. Chris Martin’s energy (and his interviews) reminded us:
Life’s too short to live in the "shoulds."
So, if August has you feeling:
Stuck between what’s expected and what you crave…
Frustrated by slow progress…
Overheated (literally or emotionally)…
Remember: You’re allowed to:
Stomp it out. Shake off the stagnant energy.
Say "no" to the "shoulds." (AC + drawn curtains on a sunny day? Valid.)
Do the weird/joyful thing. Channel your inner Chris Martin.
Final Tip:
When in doubt, grab a blanket, lie down, and stare at the sky (day or night). Let the earth recalibrate you.
August’s mantra: "I choose the world that feels like mine."
Wishing you a month of easy breaths, lighter steps, and zero apologies for doing you.
With love and confetti cannons,
Laura & Candy
P.S. If you need a mood boost, watch a Chris Martin interview. Trust us.
